HP OMEN 15-CE509TX comes with Intel’s i7-7700HQ processor and NVIDIA’s GTX 1060 with Max-Q Design, it features an 8GB DDR4-2666 high-frequency memory and 128GB PCI-E M.2 SSD + 1TB HDD Dual hard drive.
1. Removing the bottom plate
Remove ten screws that securing the bottom plate. Because there are some snaps securing the bottom plate to the body, so we need to use a pick pry up the bottom plate along the edge to release the snaps.
After all snaps were released, open the bottom plate with your fingers.
Under the bottom plate, you can get access to the RAM, SSD, HDD, Wi-Fi card, heat sink, cooling fan, speakers, battery and motherboard.
Its interior design is quite neat, with almost no spare space.
2. Heat sink and cooling fan system
The left CPU heat sink has two copper pipes and the main copper pipe is connecting to the right heat sink.
The CPU heat sink area is relatively large, in addition to the CPU, it also covers the power supply chips next to the CPU.

3. RAM upgrade option
The laptop comes with two RAM chip slots supporting up to 16GB DDR4-2400 RAM. Our unit was equipped with 1 x 8GB DDR4-2400. The chips are manufactured by Micron.
The Wi-Fi module is made by Realtek, and with a model number of U98H133, 915622-001, 915623-001.
4. HDD and M.2 SSD upgrade option
The laptop comes with a 1TB HDD spinning at 7200 RPM.
Remove the screw and take out the M.2 SSD from its slot.
The laptop we’ve tested came equipped with 128GB Samsung PM961 M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (2280) with a part number of MZVLW128HEGR-000H1, 911477-003.
The battery is under the M.2 slot, and it’s rated at 70.07Wh (4550mAh) with a part number of HSTNN-DB7W, 917678-2B1.
