How to remove or replace cooling fan on Acer DC280009KS0

1. Make sure the Acer DC280009KS0 laptop is turned off. Unlock and remove the battery.
2. There are six latches securing the keyboard on the top. Using a flat-head screwdriver to push on the latch that securing the keyboard.
3. And then insert a thin card under the keyboard and lift it up.
4. Release other five latches use the same method.
5. After you release all latches, you should be able to lift up the keyboard from the top of the keyboard.
6. Now you can access the keyboard connector. Carefully slide the cable retainer about 2-3 millimeters to the display.
7. Pull out the keyboard cable from its connector. Disconnect the power button cable and touchpad cable.
8. Remove two screws securing the bottom cover. Remove the cover.
9. Pull the hard drive to the left to disconnect it from the motherboard.
10. Remove one screw securing the optical drive. Pull the optical drive to the left and remove it from its bay.
11. Remove all screws from the bottom of the Acer DC280009KS0 laptop.
12. Lift up the top cover and start separating it from the bottom. You can pry the top cover with a guitar pick.
13. When the top cover removed you can access the motherboard. Disconnect both antenna cables from the wireless card. Remove one screw securing the wireless card and pull it from its slot.
14. Remove two screws securing the motherboard. Disconnect five cables from the motherboard.
15. Lift up the motherboard with your fingers. Be careful. The DC jack cable is still connecting to the motherboard.
16. Unplug the DC jack cable. On the other side of the motherboard, Remove three screws securing the fan and disconnect the fan cable.
17. Now you can remove the failed fan and replace it with a new one for your Acer DC280009KS0 laptop.
