How to remove cooling fan on Asus N750JK

1. Before you start, make sure the Asus N750JK laptop is shut down and the battery removed.
2. Remove two screws securing the service cover on the bottom. Lift up and remove the cover.
3. Remove four screws securing the hard drive module to the laptop.
4. Lift up the black tape and slide the hard drive module to the left to disconnect it from the motherboard. Lift up and remove the hard drive module.
5. Remove one screw that securing the optical drive. Slide the drive to the left and pull it out of the laptop.
6. Remove all screws from the bottom of the Asus N750JK laptop.
7. Separate the top covers with a guitar pick. Slide the guitar pick by the edges to release the top cover from the case.
8. Lift up the top cover. Be careful. There are a few cables connecting the top cover to the motherboard.
9. Disconnect the keyboard cable, backlit cable, power button cable and touchpad cable from the motherboard. Now you can remove the top cover assembly.
10. Disconnect the LCD cable, USB board cable, wireless card antenna cable, DC power cable and other three cables from the motherboard.
11. Remove six screws securing the motherboard.
12. Lift up and remove the motherboard from the Asus N750JK laptop.
13. On the other side, you can access the fan/heatsink assembly. Disconnect the fan cable and remove four screws securing the heatsink. You can remove the fan from the motherboard.
