How to remove or replace LCD cable on HP 762544-001

1. Shut down your HP 762544-001. Slide the battery lock latch and then slide the battery release latch to remove the battery.
2. Remove one screw securing the optical drive. Pull it out of the laptop.
3. Turn the laptop face down, and remove the rubber feet and two screws under the rubber feet, and then lift up and remove the end caps.
4. Remove eleven screws from the bottom cover.
5. Remove eight screws around the battery bay, two screws in the optical drive bay and one screw near the display hinge.
6. Turn the HP 762544-001 right side up and separate the top cover with a thin card or guitar pick.
7. Sliding the guitar pick along the edges until the top cover fully released from the laptop.
8. Lift up the top cover. Be careful, there are four cables still connecting to the top cover.
9. Disconnect the power button cable, keyboard cable, touchPad cable, backlit cable from the motherboard.
10. Now you can remove the top cover assembly completely, and then you can replace the keyboard for your HP 762544-001.
11. Open the display back cover, swivel the LCD hinges on both sides and then tilt up the LCD hinge to release it.
12. Loosen the edges of the back cover from all four sides of the display bezel.
13. Disconnect webcam cable from the webcam module.
14. Remove six screws securing the screen to the display assembly.
15. Remove the sticky tape securing the cable and unplug the LCD cable from the display assembly.
