How to replace LCD cable on HP Pavilion 15-ab173cl Touch

1. Shut down the laptop. Unplug the AC adapter from the HP Pavilion 15-ab173cl Touch.
2. Unlock and remove the battery.
3. Remove the screw that secures the optical drive and slides it out of the optical drive bay.
4. Remove two screws that secure the hinge covers to the computer and remove it.
5. Remove two screws from the optical drive bay. Remove the six screws from near the battery bay
6. Remove two screws covers and nine screws that secure the top cover to the HP Pavilion 15-ab173cl Touch.
7. Pry up the bottom cover from the optical drive bay and move to the other side along the edges. Finally, remove the bottom cover.
8. Disconnect the LCD cable from the motherboard.
9. Insert your fingers under the bezel and start separating it from the display assembly.
10. Start separating it from the left and right edges, and then move to the bottom edge of the display bezel until the bezel disengages from the display back cover.
11. Disengage the double-sided tape located in the bottom of the bezel. Now you can remove the display bezel.
12. Disconnect the cable from the webcam module. Remove the webcam module from the display of the HP Pavilion 15-ab173cl Touch.
13. Remove four screws that secure the screen.
14. Separate the screen from the display back cover and place it on the palm rest assembly.
15. Release the clear tape that secures the LCD cable to the screen, and then disconnect the LCD cable.
16. Remove the LCD cable from the screen. Now you can replace it by a new LCD cable.
