How to remove or replace cooling fan on Toshiba Satellite C55-b5352

1. Shut down your laptop and disconnect the AC adapter from your Toshiba Satellite C55-b5352.
2. Remove one screw that securing the keyboard to the laptop from the bottom cover.
3. Flip the laptop over and open the display.
4. Start removing the keyboard using a knife blade, push on the plastic tab and at the same time insert the blade under the keyboard. Lift up the left side of the keyboard.
5. When lifting it up, push on all other tabs and separate the keyboard from the palm rest.
6. Now you can move the keyboard towards the display assembly and access the keyboard cable connector.
7. Lift up the left side of the white tab with your fingernail. The white tab will open up at a 90-degree angle.
8. Pull the keyboard cable from the connector. Now you can remove the keyboard from the Toshiba Satellite C55-b5352 laptop.
9. Disconnect three cables under the keyboard and remove seven screws securing the top cover the base.
10. Flip the laptop over. Remove one screw securing the service cover. Pry up and remove the cover.
11. Remove one screw securing the hard drive module. Slide the white tape to the left to disconnect the hard drive from the motherboard.
12. Remove one screw securing the optical drive in the hard drive bay. Pull it out of the optical drive bay.
13. Remove all visible screws that securing the bottom cover to the Toshiba Satellite C55-b5352.
14. Pry the bottom cover with a guitar pick. Lift up and remove the bottom cover.
15. Remove two screws securing the cooling fan and six screws securing the heatsink.
16. Disconnect the fan cable, and then lift up and remove the fan/heatsink assembly.
