The 15.6 inches Dell Inspiron 15 7570 is a strong business style laptop which is equipped with Intel’s eighth-generation processor. Dell is not a new player in the laptop manufacturing business. In fact, it is a major rival to HP and has released a lot of top-quality products in the past. This laptop uses a quality and not too common screen pattern which flexes up to 180 degrees as opposed to most notebook screen that can go 160 degrees maximum. Dell Inspiron 15 7570 has a very premium appearance and its smooth silver color is quite matured. Its body is molded from metal using the time consuming anodizing aluminum process which gives the metallic surface a smooth, delicate, protective and decorative finish. Most important of the body of this laptop is that it doesn’t attract any sort of stain or print due to its smoothness thus it never gets dirty neither does it need cleaning. The metal build process of this laptop ensures that it is resistant to corrosion and abrasion thus its body cannot get rusted.
The beauty of the front fuselage is further projected by the traditional “DELL” logo designed with black color while at the back fuselage. There is the “Inspiron” crest for easy identification of the brand. At the base of this laptop, there are two horizontal pads along the length which is meant to raise the base of the laptop a little so as to create an allowance for heat to be dissipated via the cooling holes at the base. They also give the system balance and create a solid cohesion between the base of the laptop and the surface on which it is placed thus it cannot easily slip off the table.
15.6-inch Ultra-thin bezel Screen
Dell Inspiron 15 7570 screen comes with an ultra-thin bezel design which is the latest display technology in the industry. The top and bottom bezels are thicker than the side frames because the top bezel contains the webcam while the bottom frame has the “DELL” logo.
The thin bezels give this product high screen-to-body ratio which delivers a good visual effect. Dell Inspiron 15 7570 has a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and when compared to an ordinary TN screen, it has a wider viewing angle and a better color performance.
When opening and closing the laptop, the screen can flex up to 180 degrees as opposed to most notebook screen that can go 160 degrees maximum. Thus this notebook while open can be flat like the surface on which it is placed.
We used the red spider 5 generation professional color instrument on the screen for specific color gamut test, the final test results show that Dell Inspiron 15 7570 screen covers 67% of the sRGB color gamut and 48% of the NTSC color gamut. From this, we can see that the screen is acceptable and there will be no problem with the daily image processing of this device. Therefore, the visual experience is acceptable whether for watching movies or playing games.
On the rear, a group of speakers is systematically arranged in order to maximize the sound effect. Apart from the systematic arrangement, these speakers use Wave Maxx Audio Pro technology which delivers audited professional sounds with pure treble and vigorous bass which collectively gives an amazing sound experience.
The keyboard design is very delicate and unique because the bottom of the palm rests on a comfortable surface. The keycap gap is perfect and appropriate thus you don’t make the mistake of pressing two keys at a time while typing. The keys also trigger a swift rebound with rapid feedback thus you don’t experience the problem of entering a letter multiple times while typing. The Dell Inspiron 15 7570 comes with a solid and precise touchpad which is very delicate and delivers an excellent experience.
A backlight is one feature that all top-class modern laptops have so that low light conditions don’t stop you from typing on your computer. The Dell Inspiron 15 7570 comes with a white backlight whose brightness can be adjusted depending on what you need. This ensures that you can use this laptop conveniently even in the dark.
The thinness of this laptop is a plus for Dell. It is less than 20mm thick and packs a whole lot of ports despite its thinness.
On the right side of the fuselage, we have an SD card reader, a USB 3.1 interface, and an RJ45 network interface.
On the left side of the fuselage, we have the power interface, Type-C interface, HDMI port, 2 x USB 3.1 ports, a headphone microphone interface, and a DP video Output port.
Dell Inspiron 15 7570 has an 18.81mm body thickness which is very slim for a 5.6-inch laptop. This laptop has a net weight of 1.95 kg and a travel weight of 2.29 kg which is the expected weight of a 15.6-inch laptop.
Dell Inspiron 15 7570 is equipped with Intel’s latest eight-generation Core i5-8250U coupled with a 128GB solid-state hard drive. It has four-core eight threads design clocking 1.6GHz with a turbo boost core frequency up to 3.4GHz.
Processor Performance Testing
To test the performance of the processor, we used CineBench R15 software. It got a final single-threaded score of 140cb and a multi-threaded score of 670cb. The multi-threaded score was surprising because it surpassed the i7-8550U results. We ran the multi-threaded test again and detected that four cores are at running on the highest frequency of 3.4GHz and that’s why its multi-threaded score can reach 670cb.
We kept the frequency of the core at 3.4GHz and tested the CPU- Z Benchmark. We got a single-threaded score of 1701, and a multi-threaded of 7155. The final score was 13324. In both tests, the multi-threaded results of this laptop’s processor are higher than that of i7-8550U and very close to i7-7700HQ.
Graphics Performance test
The Dell Inspiron 15 7570 is equipped with a NVIDIA GeForce 940MX card which comes with a 4GB GDDR5 VRAM video memory.
This GPU was tested using the Cloud Gate mode of 3DMark software and got a final graphics score of 12544 points. This is a perfect entry level score and some popular high-end games such as “Heroes Union” can run smoothly.
AS SSD software was used in testing the Hynix 128GB SATA solid-state hard drive. It achieved a final read speed of 469.85MB/S, and a write speed of 191.75MB/S. On daily usage, the performance is good but it can use an upgrade if available.
The temperature control of this laptop is very good. Upon usage, it achieved a maximum temperature of 48.5 degrees. Most of the heat was concentrated on the sides of the laptop while the mid-keyboard regions accumulated very minimal temperature. On the rear, the maximum temperature was also concentrated at the sides and the central region was relatively cool. This means that you can use this laptop on your laps without problems.
The Dell Inspiron 15 7570 uses a 42Wh built-in lithium polymer battery. To test the battery performance, we used a power balanced mode, set the notebook brightness at 50%, volume at 20%, turned off all background software and initiated a continuous video playback on 1080P. After an hour, we had a total of 19% power consumption and this implies that a continuous playback of high-definition video on this notebook can reach 5 hours.
Dell Inspiron 15 7570 can be said to be a very good 15.6-inch notebook. It is portable and its processor performance is also very powerful. Its large screen, high-quality sound, and good audio/video experience make it top-notch, but it cannot meet up all your gaming demands. It is worth mentioning that it also has a good appearance and the craftsmanship was unique as it used the time-consuming anodizing aluminum process to give this laptop a premium finish. If you want to buy a 15.6-inch notebook, Dell Inspiron 15 7570 is worth considering.
Hi, enjoyed reading the early review. I just have two questions about the touchpad. I was wondering if the touchpad had a rough texture or if it had a smooth texture? And does it physically click when you press the left and right click buttons?
